What you’ll need
Step by step
Clean and prepare the slab
Remove dust, moss, loose screed and flaking coatings so the slab is sound and clean. Check the falls run to the drains.
Treat cracks and reinforce corners
Cut out and fill cracks, then bed reinforcing tape/fabric into a first pass of Terraceguard along parapet corners, drains and around pipes.
Apply the first coat
Brush/roller a full first coat across the whole slab and up the parapet to the required height, working it in with no dry misses.
Apply the second coat crosswise
After the first coat has cured enough to over-coat, apply the second at right angles for full, pinhole-free, even-thickness cover.
Cure and check
Let the membrane cure, then hose- or rain-check for ponding and coverage. Address any standing water to extend its life.
What to avoid
Untreated cracks reappear through the film. Cut out, fill and reinforce them.
The slab-to-parapet junction is the classic leak point — reinforce it.
Thin film pinholes and breaks down early. Apply two crossed coats to spec.
